Pironet NDH data centre is certified by the eco association and awarded top marks
As part of the eco Datacenter Star Audit, the Pironet NDH data centre was awarded maximum points today, gaining a five-star rating as a result of its optimum fulfillment of the surveyed criteria. The certification provides evidence of the top marks which the data center was given for the quality and range of services. And it was precisely these factors which convinced SINFOS GmbH, a subsidiary of Pironet NDH and GS1 Germany, to outsource the operation of the platform for the central European master data pool to the high-performance data center.
The aim of the eco Datacenter Star Audit is to promote transparency in the data center market. With a complex and impartial audit procedure in addition to on-site inspections, computing centers are checked in detail at regular intervals and evaluated by independent auditors. On the one hand, the certificate enables potential customers to gain an objective comparison of services on offer. And on the other hand, participating computer centers can provide reliable evidence of the quality of their facilities and services.
The main categories in the evaluation – Building, Technology, Processes and Human Resources – are divided into several sub-categories. For instance, various factors ranging from fire protection and disaster management to staff qualifications are examined closely. The Pironet NDH data center was successful across the board and was the only inspected computing center to be awarded the maximum number of stars.

Member of the Board
Pironet NDH AG
“In contrast to the already existing certifications, the eco test criteria is oriented towards the actual practical demands and the needs of the market,” explains Felix Höger, board member of Pironet NDH. “We are all the more pleased that, in addition to the technical infrastructure and security of the data center, other factors such as the scope of our services and the know-how of our staff played a substantial role in the evaluation. These criteria are of particular importance to our customers who outsource the complete operation of their business critical corporate applications to our facilities.“
In the case of SINFOS GmbH, whose master data pool forms the center for the multilateral exchange between manufacturer and retail industry, the range of the services available – in addition to security factors – was particularly crucial. With the support of Pironet NDH, the company infrastructure recently migrated to the data center. This involved moving the complete productive SINFOS master data pool from the previous location without interrupting service.
By pooling its expertise with that of Pironet NDH, SINFOS GmbH has decisively expanded its range of products and services. “One of our main objectives for the coming months is continued international expansion. Now our infrastructure is also ideally equipped to deal with it,” comments Rolf Stark, Managing Director of SINFOS
